I received a reply from the Military Attaché thanking me for my offer and acting on my intention; I informed him the result was satisfactory. I was within ... a few days of receiving a Victory Passport to leave the country.
P.S., My papers were forwarded to the War Office on 17.10.17. Ultimately on enquiry from some office, I was allowed a Contingency of a day's notice wherein to alter my declaration from an alien to a British subject.
My address will be as under after the 17th inst. 184 Sutherland Avenue, Maida Vale, W.9.
I despaired of getting any satisfaction from the Home Office. There appealed...
